Build the Village

We all need help sometimes. Joyous times in our life can also be filled with overwhelm. I can help with that.

  • Adore the Baby

The fourth trimester is a sacred time for families; a time they can never get back. This sacred time should be spent adoring your baby. Babies have many needs and rely solely on those around them to get those needs met. This can be a challenge to many new and new again parents. New Mama Village can be there during those challenging times to support you so you can enjoy your time with baby.

  • Nurture the Mother

Mothers need nurturing too. New mothers are tasked with recovering from childbirth, feeding their new baby and navigating this new life as “Mama”. Mandy can help you navigate this new role with breast and bottle feeding support, nutrition and rest to aid your recovery and encouragement to help you define what motherhood is to you.

  • Engage the Family

Babies are multifaceted beings and there is no instruction manual. Mandy knows about infants and can offer you evidence-based information about your baby so you can best understand and meet their needs. By teaching and modeling, parents, siblings, and extended family can learn, respond and effectively care for the baby and mother.

  • Build the Village

New Mama Village is here to be part of your village and help you build your own. We were never meant to do this motherhood thing alone. Mandy can help you identify those in your life whom can become part of your village. New Mama Village also hosts formal and informal groups so you can meet other new moms and parents on a similar journey.

“After the birth of my son I felt like a completely different person. I was having scary thoughts that I was embarrassed to share with anyone else. Mandy made me feel understood and loved, and she listened without judgement. She explained what happens to the body after birth and offered manageable actions to help. I thought I was prepared for postpartum, but I had no idea the effect hormones have that were out of my control.

I’m unbelievably grateful for Mandy - her service as a postpartum doula was exactly what I needed and helped me get through one of the most challenging times of my life.
